I know it would mean creating a new system that isnt in the game, but it is something worth spending dev time on, imo. Wastelands 3 does this - a mix of story-related and customized characters (so does Pathfinder:WoTR and a few other games). ![]() I realize there are story steps associated with specific gangsters (Ma Miller comes to mind), but that isnt a reason to not include the option. By default, this makes every other doctor and fixer on the roster more or less a wasted pick - and every playthrough feel more identical (hurting replayability).Īnd, of course, allowing players to create their own gangsters adds a sense of ownership to the game - we build the team in our own way with players we can form stronger relationships with. Currently, if you do not take Norah and Ma as soon as possible, you are essentially crippling yourself - Norah because you need a healer and Ma because she unlocks your most profitable building (the Loan Shark). It would add a fun layer to the game, but it would also solve a fundamental issue with the game. I know interplay between characters is meant to be a big part of the game, but I still believe that a character creator similar to those found in Wastelands 3 or X Com would be a great addition to this game - maybe not for the leader, but definitely for the black book.
